As you all know, I’m a new at this. Before today, my fear in this endeavor is that my book would just gather dust in the digital world. Now, my biggest fear is that this adventure turned out to be a failure.

I thought writing was the tough part. When I got the revision from my editor, I was a bit discouraged with her comments. They were good and constructive. I let it stew for a day and began to rewrite. The second edit was much better. So, then, I finally got it to publish. I thought, “time to relax!”

How wrong! Book marketing is so time-consuming. What if nobody wanted to read my book? So, I tried. I learned all the tricks to get the word out. By the way, The Secrets: A Mirror Estate Suspense Novelette (as of this writing) is now sitting at No. 1 spot on three or four categories on Amazon Free List. I should feel good, right? I do, I really do.

Then, I read the reviews on Goodreads. Three or four people rated four & five stars, but no text reviews. The two who didn’t like it much left the text reviews. Just my luck, right?

The story is a prequel to a series. Of course, there will be unanswered questions. If I had provided all the answers, I suppose you all wouldn’t want to read the next book in the series.

By the way, I did have a professional editor. So, hopefully, she never saw the remark “Too many grammar mistakes.”

I totally understand that not everyone likes the story. I only hope that at least one reader will like it enough to write something. I’d really like some encouragement.

Ciao for now!
